Movies 101: "Encanto," "Raya and the Last Dragon" and The Mitchells vs. the Machines"

Over the past couple of decades, due largely both to Disney/Pixar and Japanese anime masters such as Hayao Miyazaki, animation has become a major genre of feature filmmaking. On this week’s show, Dan Webster, Nathan Weinbender and Mary Pat Treuthart discuss three of the five animated films nominated as Best Animated Feature Film of 2021. First up are two Disney offerings, “Encanto” and “Raya and the Last Dragon,” followed by the Sony Pictures film “The Mitchells vs. the Machines.”
