Washington’s Liquor and Cannabis Board has announced a new step aimed at helping the hospitality industry while also promoting Covid vaccinations.

The board announced on Monday that it’s allowing restaurants and bars the option of serving one no-cost alcoholic drink on-site to customers if those customers can prove they’ve received a Covid vaccination.

Washington legislators are moving quickly to help restaurants and alcohol-related companies through the pandemic.

A state Senate committee on Thursday approved a bill that gives restaurants and bars more flexibility in providing alcohol for take out.

When Washington and Colorado became the first states to legalize recreational marijuana, they had to develop their own regulatory agencies and protocols from scratch.

 

Now that more states have joined the party, they’re pooling their expertise as the industry matures.
