Cellist and NWBachfest Artistic Director Zuill Bailey dropped by our KPBX studio for an in-person (!) chat with Jim Tevenan around the festival's latest offering, a virtual series called "Across the Miles."

Zuill Bailey, artistic director of The Northwest Bach Festival, visited the studio to talk about Connoisseur Concerts' performances this week to celebrate Beethoven's 250th birthday. String quartet performances are at 7:30 pm Tuesday at the Hagadone Event Center in Coeur d'Alene, 7:30 pm Wednesday at Barrister Winery in Spokane, 7:30 pm Friday at Hamilton Studio in Spokane, and 3 pm Sunday at Barrister Winery in Spokane.

Zuill Bailey, Grammy Award-winning cellist and artistic director of Northwest BachFest, visits with Verne to share concert highlights of Northwest BachFest, a celebration held in multiple locations that began this week. The second week will be May 25-29.

Zuill Bailey visited Spokane Public Radio to talk about the 2017 Northwest Bach Festival, which begins, tomorrow, February 22 with a Festival Classics Concert, entitled "An Evening in Vienna." The festival continues through Sunday, March 5, with performances in Spokane at venues including Barrister Winery and St. John's Cathedral, and in Walla Walla at Foundry Vineyards. In addition, there will be pop-up and lunch concerts in various locations around Spokane.

As part of the Northwest Bach Festival, which begins today and continues through March 6th, Matt Herskowitz and his trio will be performing with cellist Zuill Bailey, who is the director of the festival. Matt is known for meshing classical and jazz ideas in his playing, and his unique style will definitely be on display during his next performance.  He talked with Verne about many things jazz and classical and even demonstrated his process using the music of Frederic Chopin.

Verne had the opportunity to chat with Zuill Bailey, who is the Artistic Director of the Northwest Bach Festival.  The festival takes place February 23rd through March 6th and is full of great concerts in many different locations.

Zuill Bailey, Artistic Director of the Northwest Bach Festival & Series, visits with Verne in the 10 a.m. hour in advance of the December Winter Classics Tour, in its second year. He is a solo artist with pianist Elizabeth DeMio on this week's performances.
