In the month of September the members of River Ridge Association of Fine Art (RRAFA) explore the theme of Water. To an artist water is fascinating and can be difficult to paint. The artists in the show have used many ideas, different medium and sizes, traditional styles to abstract, up close or far away for viewers to contemplate. Whatever emotion the art evokes, wistful, happy, contemplative and more, this is a show you will enjoy!

The work presented in this show consists of
primarily still life and constructed reality imagery. My hope is that these images evoke both an
emotional response and intellectual connection on some level, while leaving room for the viewer
to explore personal narrative and find their own individual meaning or interpretation. My
process generally consists of some style of light painting in capture and composite in post. I use
light as my paintbrush and the computer as a canvas to construct and manipulate what I
physically see into what I see in my mind’s eye; to explore without boundaries.

“WOVEN HERITAGE” brings together paintings by Red Matthews and Erin Lang alongside the woven fiber works of Kimber Follevaag.
The exhibition considers how personal, cultural, and family histories are not static artifacts, but living guides that continue to resonate as we move through our current lives. Each artist engages that inheritance differently — intentionally or spontaneously — and the works on view trace how the messages and meanings of personal heritage continue to speak through paintbrush, fiber, and the presentation of the finished work.

An opening artist reception will take place on Spokane’s First Friday, September 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will run from Sept 4 - 26, 2026. Gallery Hours are WED - SAT, 11am - 6pm

Saranac Art Projects presents members Dustin Regul and Olivia Evans for the month of September. Dustin’s exhibit, “square, sphere” features color experiments based on Josef Albers and Albert Munsell. For “Soulful Imprints: An Interbeing Love Letter” Olivia Evans partnered with Jáiz Boyd in a collaborative multimedia exhibition featuring video projection, beadwork, installation, fashion, and textiles featuring nostalgic symbols and memories. The exhibition examines how multigenerational knowledge and joy shape our survival.

Terrain 17 is the Inland Northwest's Largest Multimedia Arts and Music Event. Preview Night was created in response to requests for a quieter evening to experience Terrain. Think of it as a sneak peek of the main event, and an opportunity to engage with the artists and the artwork in a quieter setting.

Always on the first Friday in October, Terrain is an annual, one-night-only, juried multimedia art and music event celebrating artists in the Spokane area. Please join us on First Friday, October 2nd, from 5 to 8, for the opening reception of Drunken Boxing, a compelling new exhibit of the mixed-media paintings, video and working notebooks of Blake Liliane Hellman. Drunken boxing is a discipline of deliberate imbalance. The fighter trains rigorously, then lets that training go. It is a method of practiced relaxation, a devious carelessness. A misstep is not weakness, it is process in disguise. That same tension between discipline and surrender runs through the paintings of Blake Liliane Hellman, whose work explores that moment when conscious control abates just long enough to disarm both artist and viewer. Drunken Boxing runs from October 2nd to October 30th, open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 to 5:30, Fridays and Saturdays 11 to 6
