SNAP and Community Health Plan of Washington invite the public to join them Saturday, August 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mission Park (1208 E. Mission Ave, Spokane) for a Back-to-School Resource Carnival. The event promises a day of fun activities for the whole family, including Free Food, Games, Face Painting, Free Cotton Candy, Free Dry Haircuts for Kids, Access to Multiple Resources & Vendors, Free Backpacks and school supplies, new back-to-school outfit and shoe fitting (while supplies last).

All educators welcome! Classroom teachers, art teachers, and homeschool parents join us for free materials and inspiration. Between 11am and 2pm teachers can walk through our material giveaway area (right outside Art Salvage) and select free creative materials, including paper, fabrics and textiles, mixed media supplies, interior design samples, craft items, art tools and more. Don’t forget to come inside for special discounts, demos, and prizes.

HEART urgently needs more volunteer members to help provide assistance in times of emergency/disasters, whether man-made or natural, rescuing animals, setting up and operating emergency animal shelters when requested by the appropriate authority such as emergency management, law enforcement, fire service.

INTO AFRICA AUCTION, October 2 - Make a world of difference a world away by attending Partnering for Progress annual dinner and auction to raise funds for our work in Kenya. African singers will entertain and Feast World Kitchen will serve an authentic Kenyan buffet. Unique experiences will be live-auctioned and the ever-popular Dessert Dash will round out an educational, fun evening. Location: Gonzaga University Hemmingson Center, 702 E Desmet Ave, Spokane.
