In November, D2 Gallery is presenting our new exhibit "Glimmers", featuring the work of Karen Mobley. This exhibits reflects on the glimpses of the spiritual, the magical, the positive in a time of sadness and conflict. These are works that show what is seen through the cracks in the window, the gap in the door, the quick glimpse across the yard or out of the car window. "Glimmers" opens on First Friday, November 7th, and runs until November 29th.

Taking its cue from the Parkade Plaza’s spiraling ramp and Entropy Gallery’s circular architecture, Spiraling Down reflects on environmental devastation, petroleum dependence, and the onslaught of information. Ominous flare stacks, towering junkyards, and warning sirens haunt Haas’s large-scale banners that encircle the gallery, evoking a world in crisis. Drawing inspiration from the political urgency and radical collage strategies of early 20th-century artists, Haas retools these methods for today’s ecological emergencies, where eco-anxiety collides with unheeded warnings. The exhibition envelops the viewer in a moment suspended between present catastrophe and an ominous future.

Our 2025 Non Profit is the Manzanita House

7th Annual Coasters Benefit. This annual benefit has raised over $6000 in donations, $10 at a time, to local non profits including, Meals on Wheels, River’s Wish Animal Sanctuary, Embrace Washington, Light a Lamp, Spokane Peace and Justice Action League and this year, 2025, the Manzanita House. Regional well known artists, friends and full classrooms of students have created coasters and donated them to this annual event. All coasters sell for $10. each and all funds made from sales go directly to the non profit. Some of the regional artists who have donated their works: Joe Tomlinson, Andrew Parker, Deb Sheldon, Dean Lenz, Lexi Biggs, Baylee Joe Art.

Manzanita House

OUR MISSION: Recognizing the resiliency of the communities we serve, our mission is to welcome and equip immigrants with tools, resources, and connections to achieve equity in the Inland Northwest. We provide immigration legal services, community power building, resource navigation, and trainings.

OUR VISION: Manzanita House is devoted to creating an inclusive space where all immigrants and refugees have a place at the table to freely and fully participate in community.

For the month of November the members at Saranac Art Project have opened the gallery to The Root Experience Collective. The Root Experience Collective is a multigenerational, multicultural and multidisciplinary endeavor. The monthlong exhibition, culminated in a three day festival that celebrates the rich tapestry of BIPOC cultures through film, music, art and storytelling. Their aim is to elevate Spokane and the Pacific Northwest’s creative voices onto the world stage providing access to the professional opportunities and amplifying narratives of resilience, growth and culture with individual identity.

“Recognizing the historical impact of colonization, we strive to decolonize art and social practice. The Root Experience seeks to bridge the divides created by artificial borders, connecting Indigenous communities across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We envision a future where artists are empowered, stories are shared and healing can begin.”

Join us for the opening reception of Body of Work, a collaborative exhibition by tattoo artists Sarah Mortier and Christina Villagomez that reimagines the traditional canvas of tattooing—the human body—through sculptural and object-based forms. By "tattooing" lifelike silicone skins, mannequin parts, and functional objects, the artists invite viewers to reconsider tattooing as both a deeply personal practice and a globally significant art form. Together, their works challenge perceptions of objectification, artistry, and permanence, positioning tattooing not just as body adornment, but as a living, evolving expression of human creativity.

We want to believe that serendipity brings us together, but is that just a myth? How often do we travel parallel paths through the world without noticing? From an ailing woman who plans one final trip, to her daughter planning one great escape and her son falling prey to a prank gone wrong, this funny, intimate, and heartbreaking play explores the lives that may be happening just out of reach of our own.

Late Laughs is your monthly dose of experimental improv and comedy, happening every First Friday at 9:30 PM. Each show features a rotating lineup of performers from independent troupes to new voices trying something bold and unpredictable. These are not your typical Blue Door shows. Each 20-minute set is a chance for groups to push boundaries, test new formats, and take creative risks… all in front of a late-night crowd that is ready for anything.

Sasha Barrett was born and raised in Sumy, Ukraine, where he spent half of his childhood. He has been a resident artist at various clay studios across the country, as well as completing his MFA from the University of Montana in 2025. He states, “This exhibition is a portrayal of the last three-plus years of war on the soil of my homeland. Whether through the tactile properties of clay sculpture, the direct information delivery of documentary film, or actual artifacts and objects from the war, I hope this presentation of artwork leaves you with compassion and a deeper understanding of what Ukraine is fighting for.”
