We will be offering beginning blacksmithing instruction for newcomers or folks who need a refresher during the first half of each day. Those who register for a morning session will learn the basics and can make one of a variety of simple projects like hooks, steak turners, bracelets, etc. with their instructor and using supplied materials. With your morning registration, which is $45, you are also welcome to stay and watch the forging in the afternoon. If you want to hammer the whole day, you can also sign up for a spot to Open Forge in the afternoon (more info below) and continue practicing what you learned in the morning, just make sure to register for both sessions.

Join us to practice and discuss mindfulness -- all are welcome. This month's topic: Gratitude. Agenda includes a guided meditation, video or reading about the topic, and discussion.
Bring an open mind and whatever you like to sit or lie on for meditation (chairs will be available; you might want a sheet to put under your mat as the floor is not clean).
Note: Use of Spokane County Library District facilities does not constitute or imply endorsement or sponsorship by the District. We are meeting in Diane E. Zahand Meeting Room East (Enter the library, walk past circulation desk and you’ll see the entrance on your left. It’s the second large room, not the first one you come to.)
See https://mindfulnessmingle.wordpress.com/ for more information.

All are Welcome! Come the First and Third Tuesdays at 6pm. We are focusing on Sri Easwaran's form of passage meditation and his 8-Point Program for daily living, currently meeting at the Spokane Buddhist Temple. This form of meditation fits with any spiritual path. Passage meditation was designed specifically for the Western “monkey mind.” It is a very disciplined approach to slowing down and focusing. It is difficult, but very rewarding! We are currently studying Sri Easwaran’s book "Passage Meditation". Questions, call Lou Ann at (509) 590-3512
