Inland Journal, June 14, 2019: Spokane Mayoral Candidate Ben Stuckart

City of Spokane/Ben Stuckart

Today on the Inland Journal podcast, Steve Jackson has the third in a series of interviews with Spokane mayoral candidates. He’ll talk with city council president Ben Stuckart.
We’ve heard now from three of the candidates for mayor. We'll hear from the fourth and fifth, Nadine Woodward and Shawn Poole, soon.

On Monday’s Inland Journal, we’ll take a one-day break from Spokane city candidates and look at state government and the 2019 legislative session instead. We’ll talk with Sixth District state Representatives Jenny Graham and Mike Volz.

You can find the podcast by searching for Inland Journal in Apple podcasts, NPR One or Google Play. Or you can find it on the Inland Journal page of the Spokane Public Radio website.

Steve was part of the Spokane Public Radio family for many years before he came on air in 1999. His wife, Laurie, produced Radio Ethiopia in the late 1980s through the '90s, and Steve used to “lurk in the shadowy world” of Weekend SPR. Steve has done various on air shifts at the station, including nearly 15 years as the local Morning Edition host. Currently, he is the voice of local weather and news during All Things Considerd, writing, editing, producing and/or delivering newscasts and features for both KPBX and KSFC. Aside from SPR, Steve ,who lives in the country, enjoys gardening, chickens, playing and listening to music, astronomy, photography, sports cars and camping.
One of the Northwest's most seasoned reporters is returning to his SPR roots. Doug Nadvornick will be heard frequently on KPBX and KSFC reporting on local news.
