From the Studio: The Bing Crosby Holiday Film Fest

The popular holiday-themed film festival makes its post-pandemic return

Bill Stimson, president of the board of the Bing Crosby Advocates, joined E.J. Iannelli in the KPBX studio to chat about the return of the Bing Crosby Holiday Film Festival following the event's two-year COVID hiatus.

This year's festival is expanding to two full days and will feature four films from Crosby's long Hollywood career. There will also be three live musical acts.

The films are Sing, You Sinners (1938) with Fred MacMurray and Donald O'Connor, The Bells of St. Mary’s (1945) with Ingrid Bergman, Road to Utopia (1945) with Bob Hope and, of course, White Christmas (1954) with Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney.

The musical acts include Bing’s nephew Howard Crosby, a regular festival presence, as well as the Zonky Jazz Band (with Phil Crosby) and an Irish Celtic trio known as Everdream (formerly Affiniti).

The 2022 Bing Crosby Holiday Film Festival takes place on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 at The Bing Crosby Theater in downtown Spokane. Tickets for both days can be purchased via the venue's website.
