News and updates from Spokane Public Radio

Richi Caldwell, teacher and advisor to many INW broadcasters, passed away after a short and sudden struggle with cancer, on June 3rd, 2021, at the age of 80.  Richi also was the director of a low-watt FM educational station at SFCC from 1968 to 1995. In 1996 KSFC became the second station of Spokane Public Radio, increased its wattage, and serves the region as a source of news from here and around the world.

Spokane Public Radio

We've just been identified by the voice, and words, of Michael Patoray. It is a sound we will have to remember and treasure.  Michael died early Monday morning from a fast moving and extremely aggressive form of liver cancer, after a stay of about a week in the hospital.

Beginning September 15, Spokane Public Radio will no longer broadcast Inland Folk, Dan Maher’s long-running music program. We are sorry to inform listeners of this change on such short notice. We were surprised when Northwest Public Broadcasting ceased production and distribution of the show.
