Pine Needle Basket Making with Barbara Snarr

Pine Needle Basket Making with Barbara Snarr

Learn to create a small basket from local Ponderosa pine needles and take home your creation!
During the 4-hour class, students will be able to finish a small approx. 4-5”diameter basket.

The basket will start with a pre-made center, and the students will be able to choose from a large variety of options. A blank center base to take home for each student is also included. If time allows, the finished baskets will be lightly coated with natural bees wax to provide additional stability and structure.

All material will be provided, including prepared pine needles, multiple colors of thread, sewing needle, gauge, items for embellishments and a hand-crafted center. The instructor will provide detailed hands-on guidance, including basic coiling techniques, different stitches, changing thread, and how to incorporate beads and embellishments.

All levels are welcome to enroll in the class. Modifications will be made for previous students to advance their skills.
