Got Ramen? Cozy up with an authentic bowl of Ramen from the Spokane Buddhist Temple’s 37th annual RAMEN FEST. Take-Out-Only. Our chefs are cooking up Ramen again with their tasty traditional recipe pork/chicken broth, noodles and vegies with chicken or their vegetarian broth with tofu ($15). Add some Mochi Desserts ($8) and Inari Sushi ($8). Come early before we sell out and stay for the Buddhist Temple Open House. All proceeds support the Temple.
“Sharing Stories: Empowering People” is the theme for The Fig Tree’s Gala 40th Anniversary Celebration, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 28, at the Cathedral of St. John, 127 E. 12th Ave. Karen Georgia Thompson, the first African-American woman to be president and general minister of the national United Church of Christ and a member of the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches, will be the featured speaker. When invited, she did not hesitate. She’s a Fig Tree reader. Tickets for the gala will be $50 and there is opportunity for guests to be event and archival project sponsors. Trackside Studio Ceramic Art Gallery is featuring for the month of May, partner and studio artist, Mark Moore. Mark is exhibiting functional ceramics and sculpture plus a beautiful collection of ceramic planter forms showcasing earth's wide range of colors created with clay and glazes, and the beauty of the natural form used in them. Many of his ceramic forms on exhibit are the end result of his personal research into the art of Ikebana and its specific vase forms.

The National Park Service and the Northwest Fur Trade Historians are providing a free family-fun event near Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. Take a step back in time, into our living history encampment to learn about the Fur Trade and what life looked like in this area almost 200 years ago! Enjoy how traders lived, trapped, hunted, dressed, and communicated in the 1800s. Talk about a blast from the past!
Living history demonstrations include: • Fort Colvile history • Women’s history • Sign talk and language • Animal trapping • Trading items • Reenactments

The Gallery @ Entropy Call for Art - Expo '74's 50th Celebration Group Show
The Gallery @ Entropy is hosting an Expo ‘74 group show in conjunction with Spokane’s Expo ‘74 50th Anniversary Celebration. We encourage you to submit artwork in the spirit of Expo ‘74 Theme. Think beyond iconic imagery and landmarks like the Garbage Goat and Clocktower.
Submissions are now open. All mediums accepted. All submissions are due by May 6th, 2024 for consideration to be featured in the group exhibition that runs July 3-29.

Please go and check out the gallery to get a better sense of your work in the space. Please note: There is no elevator to the upstairs gallery space on the 2nd level, the only route is up a small spiral staircase.Submission Criteria:Submit up to 3 works that you would like to show at The Gallery. Each can include one detail photo (up to 6 photos in total). 2D and 3D works accepted: all art must be hung on the walls, no deeper than 11 inches.Content of artwork is open, nudity ok, but nothing explicit. Must be on theme: “Expo 74’s 50th Celebration”.Submit a paragraph detailing how your piece(s) connect to the theme. Size restriction: all pieces must be 3ft x 3ft or smaller. All work must be ready to hang on install day. Transport, any applicable insurance, and sales/taxes are the responsibility of the featured artists. Artists must be able to deliver all art to The Gallery @ Entropy on July 1st between 12pm and 6pm. Art will be installed by the curators.
