Step into the world of a Samurai and experience the armor, weaponry, and personal items that comprise "Samurai, Sunrise, Sunset." Dedicated to the powerful military class that ruled Japan for nearly 700 years, each item tells a story through its master craftsmanship and individual details. "Samurai, Sunrise, Sunset" is organized by Contemporanea Progetti, Italy in collaboration with the Museo Stibbert, Italy, in cooperation with the EDG, USA. The MAC is closed Mondays.

The Idaho State Button Society is marking its 50th Anniversary with a Button Show and Sale at Templin’s Red Lion on the Spokane River, June 4-7, 414 E 1st Ave, Post Falls, ID. The show is open to the public Friday, June 6, 10 AM to 5 PM and on Saturday, June 7, 10 AM to 4PM. Admission is $3 and Free for Children. Programs open to the public include: “Outside the Button Box” presented by Gil Biggie of Reno, Nevada on Friday at 11:30 AM and on Saturday “My Adventures Collecting Bakelite” with Margaret Belisle of Helena, Montana. If you want to know more about your family's heirloom buttons or about what you may have in your button tin, or maybe something you have found while metal detecting, there will be many collectors and vendors on hand to answer your questions. There will be educational button displays as well as competition displays. So head on over to the 50th Anniversary Idaho State Button Show and Sale at Templin’s the first weekend in June. "Grow Like a Tree" is a book for curious children of all ages, exploring the life cycle of trees and the role forest fires play in this process. Each illustration is a collage of paper cutouts painted with foraged ink on watercolor paper. The foraged materials include copper, sumac, horse chestnut, chokecherries, and a railroad spike. The items were found on the forest floor and throughout the urban jungle. The goal for the book & exhibition is to inspire everyone to dwell in wonder at the lifeworld around them.
