The Spokane Folklore Society will host a contra dance on Wednesday June 5 at the Woman's Club Hall, 9th Ave and Walnut. Caller Emily Faulkner from Sandpoint, Id will call easy to learn dances. The River City Ramblers will provide old time fiddle music. No experience is necessary. No partners required. Come alone or bring a friend. Dancing is easy and fun. Newcomer session begins at 7:15PM followed by the dance at 7:30PM. General admission is $10; SFS members and students, $7; and under 18, free. Cash only. The Spokane Folklore Society is sponsoring a swing dance on Saturday June 8 featuring the swing band Max Quartet. Cathy Dark will teach an hour long swing dance workshop beginning at 7PM. The dance starts at 8PM ending at 10PM. It will be held at the East Spokane Grange, 1621 N Park Rd, in the Spokane Valley. No partner is necessary. All levels of experience are welcome.
