"Grow Like a Tree" is a book for curious children of all ages, exploring the life cycle of trees and the role forest fires play in this process. Each illustration is a collage of paper cutouts painted with foraged ink on watercolor paper. The foraged materials include copper, sumac, horse chestnut, chokecherries, and a railroad spike. The items were found on the forest floor and throughout the urban jungle. The goal for the book & exhibition is to inspire everyone to dwell in wonder at the lifeworld around them. Please join us for National Foster Care Day to celebrate the foster youth and families in our community, as well as learn about the resources available to foster youth and how you can support.
The event will include a panel discussion at 4:30pm with representatives from different foster care organizations, followed by a resource fair with time to learn about the organizations here to support foster families.
A child play area will be provided, as well as cookies and coffee.

Enjoy an evening of inspiring music at Lake City High School
COEUR D'ALENE, ID – The Panhandle Symphony Orchestra invites the community to a free spring concert on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in the Lake City High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the performance beginning at 7:00 PM.
Under the direction of Conductor Terry Jones, the orchestra will present a dynamic selection of orchestral works, featuring both classical and contemporary favorites. The concert is free to attend, with donations graciously accepted at the door to support the orchestra’s mission of bringing live symphonic music to the community.

The St. Mary Art Walk transforms our school gym into an art gallery, displaying prints of public domain sacred art in a hospitable and relaxing environment. Our topic for this Art Walk is "Portraits of Our Mother"--we will explore how the Blessed Virgin Mary has been portrayed over the centuries and from different cultures. The event includes beautiful music, delicious appetizers, a booklet of exhibited art, kids arts table and "I Spy" game. This evening Art Walk will include a labyrinth, explaining its connections to Marian devotion from Chartres cathedral and elsewhere, and a Rosary museum including over 2 dozen different styles of rosaries. Drop in anytime between 4:30 and 7:30pm. Free of charge, donations accepted.
