Alick is lost in the underground of an amusement park in 1963 where he meets a cast of strange characters including a washed-up old princess and a sarcastic donkey. He embarks on a journey through the dark underbelly and discovers who he is.

At Happy Happy Valley amusement park, Alick loses his way into the tunnels beneath the attractions and enters a decaying wonderland inhabited by a washed-up princess, a hapless cowboy, a sarcastic donkey, and other quirky characters. Darkly comic, surreal, and unexpectedly tender, MAD UNDERGROUND follows a child’s journey through illusion, confusion, and identity, and a mother’s struggle to see the child who has been beside her all along for who she is.

Kabalevsky’s witty and sparkling Colas Breugnon Overture bursts open the season with swagger and wit. Pianist Mackenzie Melemed brings grandeur and brilliance to Amy Beach’s richly romantic Piano Concerto. Prokofiev’s searing music from Romeo and Juliet closes the night, where love, violence, and heartbreak blaze across one of the orchestra’s most vivid scores.

Siemers Farm on Green Bluff is having their annual Fall Festival, where there's fun for all. We're not like most pumpkin patches! You'll find FREE parking complete with crossing guards; and a day FULL of activities. There are surprises around every corner along with free line dancing lessons, interactive shows plus catch pirate and princess characters around the farm. We're home to Washington State's first and oldest funning corn and hedge mazes that lead to the 3-story castle, and the train tour around the farm is a staple here. Little ones enjoy the life-size pirate ship playground and Little Toot bucket ride. In the pumpkin patch you'll find delights that will make you smile such as "town" themed destinations to explore with games, tractors, and family photo stations! September festival dates are free entry and FUN Wristband is optional. Come make a day of it, you absolutely will not be disappointed.

Barbara Anderson & Patty Driscoll both work in soft pastels and often choose similar subject matter for their pieces. Friends for close to thirty years, creative souls and art lovers, they decided to embark on a creative journey after raising their families. Their very first pastel class was at a local art school, and they were the only adults in the class. But they were hooked! They traveled and learned together with many professional artists which put them on the right track. In 2024, they were thrilled to have been offered a sixth month residency at the Hive, where sharing a studio allowed the experimentation, collaboration and creation of this body of work.

In the month of September the members of River Ridge Association of Fine Art (RRAFA) explore the theme of Water. To an artist water is fascinating and can be difficult to paint. The artists in the show have used many ideas, different medium and sizes, traditional styles to abstract, up close or far away for viewers to contemplate. Whatever emotion the art evokes, wistful, happy, contemplative and more, this is a show you will enjoy!

And don't forget to come by the Historic Liberty Building on First Friday Sept 4 from 5-8 pm to meet the artists in person!

The work presented in this show consists of
primarily still life and constructed reality imagery. My hope is that these images evoke both an
emotional response and intellectual connection on some level, while leaving room for the viewer
to explore personal narrative and find their own individual meaning or interpretation. My
process generally consists of some style of light painting in capture and composite in post. I use
light as my paintbrush and the computer as a canvas to construct and manipulate what I
physically see into what I see in my mind’s eye; to explore without boundaries.

Diverse regional artist fill our garden with their creations for sale. Pottery, fused glass, visual arts, garden items, fabric arts, and more. Refreshments available. Live music by Greg Vaughn.
