“Perhaps the simplest, yet most appropriate, distinction would be that an artifact is primarily the product of craftsmanship and skill, while a work of art is invested with an emotional, philosophical, spiritual, or esthetic quality that reaches beyond. It has an ambiguous something that is not always easy to define, perhaps a special element that elevates it from the realm of workmanship to a more significant level.” -David L. Shirey
Sculptors Rob McKirdie, Tybre Newcomer, and Cozette Phillips present a collection of work that reflects on their past explorations and how materials preserve and shape perception. This exhibition showcases each of their distinctive artmaking practices and investigates the intersection between object and artifact.

The theme of the mixed media that Kay West will be displaying as the Guest Artist at PPP is a result of her thoughts concerning increased global warming, and how it is affecting our streams, lakes & oceans… and fish & people. Her work is a celebration of fish in the water, and in humans' stories and art since the beginning.
Stop by to see Kay's work during the month of July at Pottery Place Plus, located in the Historic Liberty Building!
Mary Pat Kanaley is the co-recipient of a 2021 Spokane Arts Grant Award (SAGA) for the upcoming picture book Ponies In The Park with author Mary Louise Carpenter.
