Please join us on First Friday, October 2nd, from 5 to 8, for the opening reception of Drunken Boxing, a compelling new exhibit of the mixed-media paintings, video and working notebooks of Blake Liliane Hellman. Drunken boxing is a discipline of deliberate imbalance. The fighter trains rigorously, then lets that training go. It is a method of practiced relaxation, a devious carelessness. A misstep is not weakness, it is process in disguise. That same tension between discipline and surrender runs through the paintings of Blake Liliane Hellman, whose work explores that moment when conscious control abates just long enough to disarm both artist and viewer. Drunken Boxing runs from October 2nd to October 30th, open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 to 5:30, Fridays and Saturdays 11 to 6

David Roon’s background in environmental science merges beautifully with his multi-media artwork, ceramics and printmaking, as he “explores the interface between humans and the global biosphere (particularly costal and marine ecosystems)”.  Through his commitment to conservation biology and his elegant conceptual artwork, Roon invites viewers to consider the meaning of “otherness” and the ecological threats facing our fragile environments. His travels around the world, sharing his knowledge and studying cultural traditions of art, is reflected in his artistic process. This is a show for all; art and science students, families and friends.

This Oct the Liberty Gallery presents “People, Places and Things”, artwork created by sisters Judy Klier & Marcia McDonald. Judy and Marcia have been painting together for several years ~ they encourage, inspire, and critique each other's work.

For this show Judy has created a series of portraits that is called Women in the Window, that celebrates and encourages the extraordinary strength, wisdom, and potential that women possess.

Marcia’s paintings are inspired by Nature. She explores the play of light and dark, warm colors against cool, intense next to muted, and hard edges relating to soft edges; all effects that express the beauty of the scene and cause the eye to move around the painting.

As a Seattle youngster, Pierr Morgan spent a lot of time alone outdoors watching and drawing birds in his backyard. After decades of learning and practice, he followed and realized his dream of being a
children's book illustrator.

Mary Tevlin brings to the walls of Entropy Gallery a solo exhibition that celebrates texture, chroma, and illusion; served with a slice of linseed oil pie. The work is a crossing between hard edge geometry and color interaction, drawing upon untold hours of creative practice to the medium of oil painting.

Family Hour Community Night Live Music w/ John Firshi

“Conserving Birds One Cup at a Time” will be presented by Kirstin Hill of Vancouver, B.C., manager of Smithsonian's Bird Friendly certification program, also available on-line via Zoom link at www.audubonspokane.org.
Hill will explain how coffee can affect local backyard birds by conserving habitat for migratory birds on coffee farms. She’ll describe the link between coffee and bird conservation, discuss what makes Bird Friendly certification the gold-standard for biodiversity protection, and share how to purchase bird-friendly coffee.
Hill is a conservationist at heart and an educator by training, with 15 years of experience working to engage audiences in the protection of wildlife and wild places. As the Smithsonian’s Bird Friendly Program Manager, she works alongside coffee companies to increase consumer awareness and support for Bird Friendly certified coffee.

We would be honored for you to join us for the fourth annual event, Rise Up Northwest (R.U.N.) in Unity! Join Tribal leaders, scientists, policy experts, anglers, youth leaders, and community members from across the region on October 13–15 as we connect and turn ideas into action for a thriving Northwest. 

Through expert-led conversations, we'll explore the challenges facing the region's water, wildlife, and communities. We'll learn from Indigenous leaders and Snake River users whose knowledge, experience, and connection to these ecosystems span generations. Most importantly, we'll come together to identify actionable solutions which can move us forward to a future where salmon, orca, rivers, and communities can thrive together. 

Under this year's theme, "Inspiring Action at the Speed of Trust," we will unite around the restoration and protection of our lands, waters, and precious life sources and relatives.

Integrating drawing and painting with the craft of crochet, Jo Hamilton creates figurative art with post-consumer materials. Weaving these disparate languages together, she acknowledges the hand-labor of generations of women as well as the culture of contemporary art. The resulting fabric is a net that filters and transforms traditionally dominate gender stereotypes and fine art genres.

Siemers Farm on Green Bluff is having their annual Fall Festival, where there's fun for all. We're not like most pumpkin patches! You'll find FREE parking complete with crossing guards; and a day FULL of activities. There are surprises around every corner along with free line dancing lessons, interactive shows plus catch pirate and princess characters around the farm. We're home to Washington State's first and oldest funning corn and hedge mazes that lead to the 3-story castle, and the train tour around the farm is a staple here. Little ones enjoy the life-size pirate ship playground and Little Toot bucket ride. In the pumpkin patch you'll find delights that will make you smile such as "town" themed destinations to explore with games, tractors, and family photo stations! September festival dates are free entry and FUN Wristband is optional. Come make a day of it, you absolutely will not be disappointed.
