James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

One of Sondheim’s most popular works, Into the Woods is a musically sophisticated show with the opportunity to feature actors adept at dark comedy. Designers will especially enjoy highlighting the fantastical elements of this magical word.

“Treasure Island” is a fast-paced, family-friendly adaptation of this classic adventure tale by Robert Louis Stevenson. Packed with swashbuckling action, colorful characters, and imaginative staging, this Prince Street Version brings pirates, hidden treasure, and high-seas excitement to life in a playful, accessible way that is perfect for audiences of all ages. This musical runs April 10 to 26 – Fridays at 7 pm / Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm. The ASL Interpreted performance is April 12, at 2:00 pm, and the Family Value Night on April 18, at 7:00 pm.

From the evolution of the finisher shirt to the poster art of legendary artist Ken Spiering, this exhibit celebrates the creativity and community spirit that moves us all. Come relive the memories and feel the pulse of five decades of Bloomsday.

On April 25th, at 6:00, Missoula artist Elisha Harteis will be back in town to give our first ever Final Saturday Artist Talk! This will be a great opportunity to meet Elisha, ask her about her stunning exhibit "Cry Baby", hear her talk about the concepts and motivations behind her work, and get one last chance to see this exhibit. "Cry Baby" is currently on display Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 to 5:30, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 to 6.

Bill and Kathy Kostelec, the Blue Ribbon Tea Company’s multi-instrumentalists, bring original, folk, blues, and county music back to our stage. Laddie Rey brings " heartfelt" and "honest" acoustic sound to his music. These seasoned professionals provide music from over the decades. Heidi Muller and Bob Webb are featured in a dulcimer-centric concert at the Harrington Opera House from 6:30 to 7:30 on April 25th. in Harrington, WA. Heidi & Bob hail from Joseph, OR, and play original songs and traditional tunes with mountain dulcimers, guitars, mandolin, and electric cello. Heidi is an award-winning singer-songwriter whose “Good Road” was the theme song for Northwest Public Radio’s Inland Folk show. Bob played in the original house band for Mountain Stage heard over NPR.

Censorship & Defiance
Fahrenheit 451 is the temperature at which paper ignites. With simple sets and uncomplicated staging, this powerful drama is about the inner struggle of Guy Montag, a fireman. Montag has worked as a civil servant for ten years burning books, but lately he has become increasingly unsure about what he is doing and about his vegetable-like existence. It is not until he meets 16-year-old Clarisse, who is filled with strange ideas, that he is led into a dangerous and highly combustible situation. Now he must choose between continuing his nonexistent existence and risking everything for the right to think.​
