The Spokane Folklore Society hosts its second Saturday contra dance on April 11 at the East Spokane Grange beginning at 7PM. Caller Penn Fix will teach easy to learn both traditional and contemporary contras originating from New England. The Prestwold Players featuring two fiddles, piano, and flute will play jigs and reels. All are welcome - partners and singles. It is fun and easy! Join Pet Savers at River Park Square (2nd Level) for $1 raffle tickets and a chance to take home a custom dog or cat house. 5 local high-school shop classes are showcasing houses along with local architects, deck companies and more. Not a pet owner? No problem, we’re also raffling Gonzaga men’s/women’s tickets, signed basketballs, and even $500 cash. Every ticket helps fund low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine services that save animal lives right here in our community. Come by, have fun, and make a difference!
RamenFest returns to the Spokane Buddhist Temple on April 12th.The chefs will be cooking up traditional Japanese Ramen again with their tasty traditional recipe with pork/chicken broth, noodles and veggies with chicken ($15). Also serving Flavorful Vegetarian broth with Tofu and veggies ($15). Add some delicious Mochi Desserts or Inari Sushi ($8) and Onigiri Sushi, ($4). Carry-Out Only - We will have tables for dining in our side yard. (weather permitting). All proceeds support our all-volunteer Temple. Serving our Spokane Community since 1945.

Penn Fix and Marlee Eldridge will teach easy to learn community dances including contras, squares, and circle dances. Deep Roots with Arvid Lundin will play Irish jigs and reels. Visual Dialogue features Abstract Artwork & Sculpture created by some of our favorite Spokane Community Artists. The abstract art experience invites viewers to free their minds, allowing their emotional intelligence to guide or communicate a feeling or thought about certain images presented in a painting, drawing or sculpture. This show will run through Saturday, April 25th. Regular gallery hours are Wednesdays - Saturdays, 11am -5pm.
